Tanzania is one of the most picturesque and romantic countries, quarter of which is reserved for National wildlife Parks. The landscape is diverse offering incredible flora and fauna. Three quarters of all plant species in East-Africa are found in Tanzania. In addition, Tanzania has the largest mammal population of the African continent.
The natural beauty appeals to anyone: the Serengeti with its plain fields, the Ngorongoro crater, the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro and Meru.
Africa’s largest freshwater lakes are located in Tanzania: Lake Victoria - source of the Nile - Lake Tanganyika and Lake Nyasa. Mahale and Gombe Stream are home for large chimpanzee communities.
Not far from the coast you can find the Eastern Arc Mountains, dating back millions of years, also called the African Galapagos, as they offer a wealth of endemic plant and animal species.
It is generally accepted that the roots of human life are found in Africa, evidence of this is found in the Olduvai Gorge in Northern Tanzania.
Tanzania also has a big cultural diversity, with roughly 120 different tribes, each with their own traditions and way of life. The people of Tanzania are friendly, hospitable and proud. You will receive a warm welcome everywhere. In the Irangi Hills you can see fantastic prehistoric cave wall paintings.
Tanzania is blessed with hundreds of kilometres beautiful Indian Ocean beaches, surprisingly hardly exploited.
